Turbomachinery Engineer

Salwa joined Initium Aerospace in 2025, bringing with her a strong foundation in aircraft propulsion and a genuine passion for engine technology. With several years of academic and practical experience, she has worked on everything from engine cycle modelling and thermodynamic analysis to the study of combustion efficiency and the role of advanced materials in high-performance environments.

Her background includes extensive hands-on work with engine performance simulation, thrust and pressure ratio calculations, and the integration of sustainable technologies into propulsion systems. She has explored how small design changes can significantly impact fuel efficiency, emissions, and overall engine stability, always looking for smarter, more sustainable ways to power flight.

While completing her MSc in Aerospace Engineering, Salwa led her university’s Aerospace Society, where she guided peers through technical workshops and collaborative projects focused on engine design and propulsion theory. Her ability to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications has made her a natural leader and mentor within engineering circles.

At Initium Aerospace she’s especially excited by the chance to contribute to next-generation engine concepts, combining innovation with a deep respect for the fundamentals. Salwa enjoys staying involved in the wider aerospace community, sharing insights, and continuously learning about emerging propulsion technologies that could redefine how we fly.

For her, every turbine blade, every pressure ratio, and every innovation is part of a much bigger mission to shape the future of flight.
